Apple Franchise To Open In The Waterside Shopping Centre

iPhone, iPod, Macbook and iMac fans across Lincolnshire will be celebrating today as The Waterside Shopping Centre announced that an Apple franchise is to open in time for Christmas.

The franchise will be operated by Stormfront Retail Ltd, which has 14 other Apple outlets across the UK. The Apple store will be located on the Waterside’s upper floor in the 3,360 sq ft unit previously occupied by Oasis. The transformation of the unit has started and will be completed on December 17.

As well as the arrival of Apple, The Waterside Shopping Centre has also welcomed a further four retailers in the last month.

Hawkin’s Bazaar, Past Times, L’Amour Hair & Beauty and the Puzzle Store have all opened stores in the run up to Christmas.

“The arrival of the franchise in The Waterside Shopping Centre is fantastic news,” says Roy Greening, Centre Manager. “The Apple brand is iconic and is just the sort of outlet that we want to see in our malls. Stormfront is the premium UK franchisee and we are delighted to introduce it to Lincoln.

“It is certainly a testimony to Lincoln’s growing stature that a brand such as Apple can see the benefits of opening a store in the city. Up until now people wanting to visit an Apple store would have to travel to Leicester or Sheffield, now they can come into Lincoln.

“This letting, along with the four other retailers, really shows that The Waterside is and continues to be Lincoln’s premier fashion and lifestyle destination,” added Roy.

The Waterside Shopping Centre opened in 1981 and was bought by Capital & Regional in February 2011 for £24.7m. As well as Apple and the other new retailers, other notable outlets include Primark, a recently refitted 7,800 sq ft Topshop, New Look, Goldsmiths and Early Learning Centre.
